There's nothing about the sheer gravity of this conversation that's even remotely cheerful. Alayre wears a grim face as he speaks but he isn't without kindness. If this Templar is so willing to redeem the names of his comrades through martyrdom, then clearly the man before him is worth the consideration. The Orlesian shall spare him and pardon his comrades as long as these renegades don't commit the same mistakes.
