Raylan stood at a safeish distance, not intending to startle. His first thought had been rifter, given the light at her hand, but she was an elf, and not a lot of elves were coming through the rifts. His next guess was city elf -- she had that look about her, one he'd seen on kids sent to the Circle and fresh from their alienages.

"I can help you out, if you'd like. Or not," he added, raising his hands. "Just thought I might offer."
