Character: Raylan Gibbs (Justified native AU) Occupation/Role: He teaches mage children and then when he's done he holes himself up in a broom closet with a handwritten sign on the door that says "INQUISITION RESEARCH VERY IMPORTANT GO AWAY". He's also on the mage council. A/R/N/M: 44, human, Fereldan, mage Elevator Pitch: A somewhat grouchy and taciturn mage who is the bluntest and most male member of the mage council and mostly just wants everyone to shut up. Where They've Been: Raylan is from Crestwood. His father was a farmhand when he wasn't successfully conning or intimidating the passing couriers out of their coin. He came to the Ferelden circle when he was 19 and has been living in the Hinterlands since the rebellion until a few months ago, keeping to himself and living in a shack because fuck all of y'all. Fuck y'all templars and fuck y'all willing apostates and BASICALLY POINTS TO JOURNAL NAME. He was NOT in support of splitting from the chantry and basically hates that some reckless assholes forced everyone else into apostasy with them. Typical Day: Gets up later than he probably should. Spends late morning and early afternoon tutoring children. Attempts to scam food from the kitchens at some point once they're done. He spends an hour or two wandering around the castle -- during this time he can be found in the library, chilling in the courtyard, or exploring the castle or camps. Late afternoon, he locks himself in his little claimed laboratory (previously an unused broom closet in the dungeon). He comes out to eat dinner and otherwise spends the rest of the evening there. He also sleeps there. Some nights, he'll spend the evening in the Herald's Rest instead. Plot Interests: Willing to entertain possibilities but right now nothing comes strongly to mind. CR Interests: Raylan's mostly not the type to go out of his way to seek out people he doesn't like unless he has to so he's usually not going to be that interested in turning negative CR into something else. He does have a protective streak where women and children are concerned and he's weirdly good with kids (this applies both to little kids and to teenagers). He has a lot of respect for people who won't be put off by a snarky comment, and he does respect authority. (Like, as much as he respects anything. He respects authority to its face, at least?)
