wontforgetyou: (*still clinging*)

[The brief surge of relief that he feels when he finally spots the other man is quickly replaced by dismay as he sees him let go of the log, and his reaction is to try and start to head towards him before its too late and the other man he gets swept away.

"Try" being the operative word, in this case. He's not in quite the same predicament that he would've been in only a few years ago, back when he couldn't swim at all. He's learned since, but he's not anything like a strong swimmer, and his attempts to get there wind up with him getting caught up by the current and tossed about. By the time the other man gets to him, he feels more than a bit like he's been in the wrong end of a fight with a couple of bears, and he winds up latches on to the other man and hang on for dear life for a few seconds until he can get his feet under him and actively start to help steer them in the right direction. It feels strangely familiar, somehow, but he's a bit too distracted in shifting his clinging to the house to give it much thought - although something gets him to look over at the other man once that's done.]

Och, remind me not to do that again. You alright?
