Diana's heart warms to see the resolve in the woman's face. Thedas was many things, but lacking in strong women, it was not. With the majority of her attention on the bear, she does catch sight of the cub's bright, curious eyes as their mother advanced.

"Ah, I see." She can't help smiling. She sheathes her sword, smoothly, gesturing for the woman behind her to begin backing away. Even if the bear can not understand her, she speaks anyway, her tone as calm and even as before, "Peace, mother bear, we mean no harm to you and yours. Let us both part ways."

Even as she speaks, she takes slow measured steps back, hoping the woman will take her lead. She would prefer not to fight a bear bare handed today, but she is even less willing to allow harm to come to the woman or leave the cub without a mother.
