Not exactly in order of importance but he has a heavy pack and a lot of papers in it, he'd like to get them stored safely, thanks very much.

Magic! Tavin does indeed have a bow too but what he's more interested in is not the pulsing green rip in the sky, or the demons, leave that to the mages, the Chantry scholars, the arcane researchers.
No. Tavin is busier and most excited in the aftermath when sensible people are resting. Taking samples. Sketching. Leaping upon anyone who's seen this before for their observations. Trying to get an assistant since none of his usual suspects wanted to come with him even if this is obviously the opportunity of a lifetime.
