Kirk was not so pleased to be returning to Orlais, per say, but he wanted out of Kirkwall for one, and he felt he should be there in case certain voices began to be ignored. It helped his shard came with magical properties he now had more than a modicum of control over.

He honestly liked the camping himself. Sure a bed was nice, especially a certain bed, but being out in the wilds was oddly freeing. It was as close as he could come to traveling through the stars again, and he soaked up that sensation whenever he could.
