He nods as he straightens up from leaning on the fence.
"I've not had to deal with it the way Rifters have, but I understand being torn from one's home suddenly." There's a beat as he glances at the indicated courtyard, considering. "I can't help you with a sword, but I know my way around a staff. If you want to learn something and don't have a particular preference for the blade I can help. Otherwise, I fear all I really can tell you is 'don't hold the pointy end.'"
He's smiling more strongly. It's so much easier to be his old self around someone who doesn't know who Anders is and what he's done, and someone who hasn't been hurt by it. The guilt is never fully gone, but it's not staring him in the face either.
