In the Dragon Age games, as you travel Thedas with your best pals, they have a lot of short conversations about politics, the weather, butts, etc. So this is the Fade Rift equivalent, in four easy steps!

1. Imagine your characters are on a very long walk somewhere, or on a very long walk back after kicking ass, or standing guard together, or gathering herbs, or working in the library late at night, or anything else sort of boring. You can provide context if you'd like, like "[ On the way back from Antiva: ]," but it isn't mandatory.

2. Post a few different remarks your character might make—similar to TFLN, except spoken out loud and less ridiculous, maybe, or maybe not, I don’t know your life—while passing the time.

3. Tag around to reply to those general remarks or to start new/wildcard conversations! Threads should be pretty short and involve minimal action; there’s no need to turn anything into a big production. Threadjacking to create multiperson conversations is encouraged (unless someone says not to). Multiple different conversations between the same characters occurring on different days are also encouraged.

4. Gather up all of your little conversation snippets like a bouquet and keep them forever, because they’re game canon.

It's not often she dances in a formal setting, but she's been around enough blocks and palaces and highbrow end-of-the-word parties to know how to keep from getting stepped on. It's atually a bit impressive how little she does have to avoid Abby's feet. ]

I didn't think zombie apocalyptic worlds had much room for dancing, and yet here you are!

[ Her eyebrows go up, lips curled up as she hooks her arms around his hips when he does throw up his arms. ]

Oh now you like me. And here I thought we were just mutually beneficial bedmates.

[ He peers are her and then frowns, clearing his throat a little, earlier annoyance all but forgotten in the light of her closeness. ]

It's more than that.

[ Surely she knows this by now, does he have to say it or something? ]

[ She makes a noise like she's unsure, but the wrinkle of the nose and quirk of her smile leans towards teasing. ]

Is it? Not just good old fashioned narcissism?

No one source. The government, independent organizations dedicated to furthering knowledge, commercial enterprises hoping to hit on something profitable by funding wider scholarship. Sometimes it's just one really rich dude who gets a wild hair, but that's, uh, rough to build a program around. For general, non-specialist education, it's a mix of government-funded schools, independent self-funding schools and religious schools.

Kind of both? You're riding the wave facing forward as it moves in toward shore, but sometimes you can extend how long you ride by moving along it as it's coming in.
