Bull was moving in an instant, axe wheeling before before the pommel was brought down on the creature's skull, hard enough to stun. It bellowed in pain before wobbling backwards, obviously dazed.

Bull jerked his head in the direction of the nearest path. He could cover her if she ran, now, but they might not get another chance. Then they'd have no choice but to put both the animals down in a far more permanent fashion...something he got the feel she really didn't want to resort to just yet.
