Hermione had always seemed older than her age. He should have seen her when she'd bee twelve and acted like a middle-aged woman. In her own way, though, she'd loosened up a bit throughout the years, learning to enjoy life and not worry so much about getting top marks and excelling at everything she did. After all, there was no guarantee you'd make it to your next exam without getting sucked away into another world. Or worse.
