Though she knew about the Judeo-Christian idea of demons and possession and all that sort of thing (of which she had no proof and so could only assume it was superstition), all demons were in her world were a class of magical creature, and as far as she knew, they didn't go around possessing people. Hurting them, yes. Killing them, certainly, if one couldn't leave their territory in time. But possession?
