He nods his head solemnly, "Yes, and it is because magical power does not come from within the mage, as I have heard it from different worlds, but instead from the other side of the Veil, in the Fade. Yet spirits and demons dwell there, and some mages give into these demons, which brings them through the Fade, and allows them to take over the mages. Then they become abominations, monsterous beings with inhuman powers."

He sighed softly, as he moved more branches out of their way. "So it is ... a circle within itself. A good circle has mages using their abilities to help people, and the templars protect those mages, and people from any mages that get out of control. Bad circles, which I am ashamed to say, were formally in existence, are the opposite of that."
