The beast was a Ferelden bear, which meant it could be surrounded by twenty men and would continue to fight, a bit of lightning wasn't about to send the thing running unfortunately. The lightning did, however, provide the perfect distraction. While it's still dazed, Blackwall steps in closer, driving his sword between the creatures ribs to deliver a killing blow before stepping back to avoid being buried under the bear as it collapsed.
