hahaha yes please this delights me. When I get a starter up there will be at least one "Lex exists in the Undercroft" open one so hey!! Anytime.

excellent. i mean his staff is the slim pickings he could scrounge when he was the last one to leave his circle tower so it was like, a branch with a cracked crystal lashed to the top with twine or some shit. i don't actually know how staves work but it's completely legit for lex to take one look and be like this is so sad. in standard jesse eisenberg tone.

HAHA yeah like ...as far as I know there isn't a legitimate canonical consensus for this so we can just uh. make up how they work re: the actual magic part(s), because yes he would look at it like. what facets of this do you actually need because i'm having the rest of them taken out to be destroyed. right now.

ADDS BELATEDLY like. obviously he can't make it MORE magical but we could probably play with the idea that it would at least be like more efficient etc ...plus the "using a staff" animation is from like, irl rattan staffs, so component that is uh, smacking demons in the face would definitely be improved.

raylan's like, i need...it...to make magic? electricity magic is my favorite i guess? and now i'm picturing lex just throwing it away and giving him a new staff and telling him it's the same one. idk if that's like...allowed? but idk if it amuses you it amuses me

LMF it amuses me beyond measure. also the 50% coin toss if Lex would even bother to be tactful enough to pretend it's the same one. it doesn't seem important enough to police but we could always ask a mod for safety? either way unless it's a definite no i would ...guess like, what they would need there would just be someone to enchant it afterwards? since staffs are as much physical weapons as they are for magic ...and lex knows enough about metals to be able to be like "these are the best conductive materials" except in. thedosian language.

guess who's giving way too much thought to realism here.

i think probably with a basic weapon we can do whatever as long as it's not like super OP or anything? i don't know when/if a mage gets involved with making a staff but we could probably handwave the getting enchanted part.

also i want raylan to call it lightning and lex to ROLL HIS EYES because what kind of backwoods hick still calls it lightning

yes not that we're now discussing this in two places but it would be essentially "here's how to get the best out of basic materials," so we ought to be fine!
