Turin's life kinda sucks, everyone in Arda agrees, and yeah, maybe Glaurung didn't deliberately set it up that way but he's just saying if there hadn't been memory wiping and funky brain rewiring going on in the first place...

If Charis is a good boy then Elros will allow himself to believe her
