martel's probable indifference to her existence is curbed somewhat by her being adelaide's student (and his investment in adelaide continuing to like him) - he's starting to involve himself in mage business more, possibly they could get some positive cr out of it? he is capable of exerting himself to be charming or at least tolerable and trying to build himself a place among the mages, sort of branching out from the foundation he's built with adelaide.
