In the Dragon Age games, as you travel Thedas with your best pals, they have a lot of short conversations about politics, the weather, butts, etc. So this is the Fade Rift equivalent, in four easy steps!

1. Imagine your characters are on a very long walk toward a mission objective, or on a very long walk back after kicking ass, or standing guard together, or gathering herbs, or working in the library late at night, or something. Anything sort of boring that might make people want to have a dumb conversation just to break things up a bit.

OPTIONAL ASSISTANT: Since so many people reported being out of it, we made a random generator to help you come up with some general banter prompts for your top-levels.

2. Post a few remarks your character might say (similar to TFLN, except spoken out loud and less ridiculous and sexy, maybe. maybe not. we don’t know your life) while passing the time.

3. Tag around to reply to those general remarks or to start new/wildcard conversations! Threads should be pretty short and involve minimal action; there’s no need to turn anything into a big production. Multiperson threads are encouraged. Series of conversations between the same two characters occurring on different days are also encouraged.

4. Gather up all of your little conversation snippets like a bouquet and keep them forever, because they’re game canon. Banter threads can't be used for Base AC, but do count towards AC Rewards points.

You really are terribly lovely, my dearest Byerly. It's hardly unpleasant, only very incorrect.

Why do you say that?

Because if I was more than my purpose, you would be much better served devising a way to kill me efficiently than telling me so many sweet things.

[bouchonne]

Kill you? Why?

[bloodandsand]

It's only sensible, dearest. I have a rather lengthy list of individuals I would very much like to kill, but it would be very counter to the instructions I've received so far. I would be very dangerous to the organization and Kirkwall itself were I to run about willy nilly.

Not to mention being a reaver is always a bit of a count down til one disgraces oneself entierly. I have a number of years left, of course, since I don't have the elixir anymore.

[bouchonne]

Forgive my ignorance. The elixir?

Oh! It was what they gave us! It's the blood from the first drakling one kills, mixed with wyvern venom and a sacred wine. First taken on the day one proves oneself worthy of being, to awaken the visions.

[bouchonne]

I see. And it is - bad for you?

[bloodandsand]

[ She laughs her sweet, silver bell laugh. ]

I wouldn't say that! It is very thrilling to go into battle while experiencing visions. But I had a very unpleasant time of it during that little war between the mages and templars. Our community had been scattered and it was very difficult to gather the supplies, you see.

[bouchonne]

And what about now?

[bloodandsand]

How do you mean?

[bouchonne]

Is it difficult to gather the supplies now?

[bloodandsand]

I don't imbibe now.

[bouchonne]

A choice on your part?

[bloodandsand]

My dearest Byerly, I don't love you nearly well enough to tell you that story just yet.

[bouchonne]

No? How much better do you need to love me?

[bloodandsand]

[ She hums softly and reaches out to brush his cheek lightly with her knuckles. ]

I wonder that myself. It's been some time since I've loved anyone as sweet as you.

[bouchonne]

[ He takes her hand and kisses her knuckles gently. ]

Do you want something besides sweetness? Or is this pleasing to you?

[bloodandsand]

There is very little I don't want when it comes to this.

[ Easy as anything to twine their fingers together and press an answering kiss against his knuckles. ]

But I haven't a clue what pleases you, dearest, and it vexes me enormously.

[bouchonne]

Oh.

[ He gives a laugh, and reaches out with his thumb to caress her cheek. ]

Everything pleases me. I am an easy man.

[bloodandsand]

Does it? [ She tips her head into the caress, turning a little to press a kiss against his wrist. ]

How terribly vague. Must I tease the truth of it out of you?

[bouchonne]

Oh, you must.

[bloodandsand]

If you insist. [ She tugs him closer and does not kiss him. Not yet. She leans in close and ghosts her lips along his jaw. ] Will you tell me, are you as sweet when you're naked as you are clothed?
