i still feel so new and fresh and meaty around here, but this game and you guys make me so happy ;_; everyone is a friggin pleasure to write with, seriously holy crap there is so much talent around here and threads are a joy to read, and i really dig the chill atmosphere!! i've honestly felt super welcomed, which is nice as the stick out weirdo with the drawn icons. i'm so glad i impulse apped and now you all are STUCK WITH ME.

Fade Rift was the first DWRP game I ever joined and is, five years later, still pretty much the only one that's stuck, and that's because I still feel very much that you guys are trying to make it as good as you can for us, and enabling us to make it good for ourselves.

I have made so many friends here and had some really good RP, through some Fucking Ridiculous times in my life no less, and I want you to know how much I appreciate the human angle-- it's a pretendy barbies game, but you always try to do your best by the players, and in addition to that are people who I'm glad to know.

Having said that, I will likely remain in Fade Rift until you burn it to the ground with me inside, sorry

I'm editing this with real comments. Truly, its meant a whole lot to me to come to this during this weird time and be apart of something and do something productive (albeit nerdy af) with y'all. I have been delighted by what a bunch of delightful and smart as hell group you are and how consistently interesting everything is. It's certainly saved my sanity (as far as it ever was going to be saved lol). Also, I love game and I love you.

fade rift has been my main game since it opened; i have been here since the beginning and i will be here after it ends, sitting in the unnaturally bright lights as the bar closes around me at five in the morning, elves stumbling out to be sick on the pavement. i love the opportunity to tell stories that have real stakes - where characters opinions and priorities matter, sometimes very inconveniently, and they have real impact on the world and story being woven here. how do i single out plots when that we have built LIKE HALF A DECADE ALMOST of history out of them all together. i love how collaborative and risk taking it has always felt and have mad respect for our mods who will probably not one day sue us for emotional distress im pretty sure, because the way mj and cass are always trying to innovate the game and plot mechanics and make it work better and try new things and reinvent stuff IT IS QUITE RAD and, in my opinion, surely one of the biggest reasons this game still has so much life in it.

coming back was an extremely good idea for me and i love what you've done to the place. you guys have done a really excellent job in making a fandom game ~*~wOrK~*~ for you in dwrp, from the creation of riftwatch through to the mechanics around rifters, AUing, through to the depth of world you guys maintain from the canon that inspires so many well rounded OCs.

I'm so glad you're back in FR for a multitude of reasons (you're a joy to play with/I think you're fantastically funny as an individual and I really treasure your presence in general), but two of those reasons are because I love your characters and I'm delightfully mad at what a great writer you are. I wish I had your hand for developing such strong, immediately recognizable concepts that are then are these fantastically nuanced OCs. Mhavos and Jone (and Eshal) feel so natural and so immediately fully formed that I'm constantly going both, 'Geeze why didn't I think of this' AND 'Because I never could' as they're so distinct from each other yet so specific to you as a writer. You're absurdly smart and I'm deeply envious of your ability to not just absorb the history and linguistic things that you're so passionate about, but to then process and create new things/form new opinions out of interrogating them. As a criminally passive reader by nature, it's extremely impressive and has made me want to challenge myself to be more actively discerning with my own consumption of things.

Rachel!!! I know we don't have much CR right this second (which we should change), but it's been such a delight to play with you. Your characters are so consistently some combination of charming and damaged and it's so fun to try to unpeel them through play to get at the soft gooey parts. ...which sounds grosser than I mean, but you feel me. Every thread has such potential to be rewarding revealing, so threading with you or reading your stuff is a real treat. Writing with you is a constantly exciting rollercoaster and I'm always SO IMPRESSED by how much you do with often very little. Playing so much with you over the last few years (....it doesn't feel that long AND YET....) has absolutely improved me as a writer and it's such a treasure getting to spy on how you've developed Byerly (and Kitty, and etc etc).
