'Twas the night before DA4, and all through the house, we found ourselves wondering, is a nug analogous to a mouse?

 

The writers were fired, Cullen’s VA got weird, ten years have passed, and most of us are still here.

So as our computers overheat, none of them upgraded since Inquisition, we say thanks to the mods, still here of their own volition.

Here’s to a near decade of waiting, roleplaying, and friends, through tags and logs and only a few dropped threads.

May we all enjoy Veil Guard, a Thedas unfamiliar and unknown, though ‘Fade Rift’ has the cooler name, if I may say so.

how to play:

1. tag with a toplevel for your characters. (possibly include division + projects for ease of identifying coworkers!)
2. reply to other's tags with what your character got theirs for satinalia.
3. rake in those approval or disapproval points. we support both friend- and rival- mances.

paper isn't enough, but then, what else is there? she already gave him the one handkerchief, another would just reveal her as uncreative and thoughtless. a jacket perhaps—but would that be too personal? does he like to read? she really doesn't know. there's not a lot she does know about him, honestly.

left anonymously in front of his door the morning of satinalia, with a note indicating its intended recipient (handwriting trying very hard to mask its familiarity), is a finely made but plain wooden chest. on the face, SUGGESTIONS is etched onto a plate screwed into the wood. there's a slot in the top, and an etched silver key on a chain to match the lock.

Inside, a small bag of real chocolate, and a sheaf of paper.

The new, upgraded box goes up outside the office in short order, and the chocolate makes its way to the right person.

For those working under him, Julius gifts a sachet of mulling spices to fancy up cider or wine over the winter, as well as a small holiday bonus in coin.

He spends it commissioning Toni, Age Six.

A bottle of Nevarran brandy, presented in person on the day. In addition, for the room to share, Vanya has provided a box of spiced nuts imported from Antiva.

The brandy gets split with Teren. I assume the room at large plays courtesy chicken over who's willing to take the last of the nuts.

He can't chew this, but is far too polite and embarrassed to ever say so. He saves the card and passes on the candy to the brother of TONI age SIX, who was kind of pissed no one let him eat her crayons. Fifi solved a diplomatic incident.

Sitting on Cedric's bed, there's a small but adorable stuffed dog. Distinctly not a mabari given the flopped over ears and a tail to speak of. There's a simple blue scarf wrapped around for Cedric to wear. No note.

From here: The goggles will keep the wind out of your eyes in the sky, with an additional binocular layer that can be flipped down over your eyes to magnify your vision and allow a clearer view of the surface from great heights. The leather strap is embossed with the simple profile of a fox that flows into a floral pattern that is meant to represent Prophet's Laurel but might just look generic-viney. One night leading up to Satinalia (though maybe not the night of -- he's only one guy), Cedric is visited by a spirit of memory, Nostalgia. The dream starts in the same shabby room his reoccurring nightmares always start in, but instead of a hungry corpse waiting in the sheets, it's his living mother that scoops him up into her arms. She's only as detailed as Cedric can remember, more suggestion than person in places, but Caius has asked the spirit to mimic her warmth and her scent as well as it can gather, and not to grasp too tightly.

A nice wrought-iron weapon mount that could be used for a sword (or armour). Gela has wrapped it in brown paper and tied with string, poked a cheerful sprig of rosemary through the knot.

From Byerly and Bastien, a small basket indurably woven from reeds, containing two fresh figs, a handful of walnuts, and a fresh cookie with bits of dried fruit depicting Satinalis.

Additionally, Cedric is given the name, address, and gentle non-literal push toward Eddeva Vernier, a very kind and nurturing music instructor in Val Royeaux who takes absolute delight in teaching total beginners. He's set for six lessons up front, meant to set him on the path to self-teaching; more will cost him.
