'Twas the night before DA4, and all through the house, we found ourselves wondering, is a nug analogous to a mouse?

 

The writers were fired, Cullen’s VA got weird, ten years have passed, and most of us are still here.

So as our computers overheat, none of them upgraded since Inquisition, we say thanks to the mods, still here of their own volition.

Here’s to a near decade of waiting, roleplaying, and friends, through tags and logs and only a few dropped threads.

May we all enjoy Veil Guard, a Thedas unfamiliar and unknown, though ‘Fade Rift’ has the cooler name, if I may say so.

how to play:

1. tag with a toplevel for your characters. (possibly include division + projects for ease of identifying coworkers!)
2. reply to other's tags with what your character got theirs for satinalia.
3. rake in those approval or disapproval points. we support both friend- and rival- mances.

Left on his desk with an address card signed by Mme de Cedoux, a tin of tea noted for its soothing properties.

Wow, how thoughtful. Good thing he's already so chill and non-paranoid that he can give it to someone who needs it to make sure it's not poisoned.

Everyone who works at the infirmary receives a nice bar of soap, and their own “on duty” metal nameplate for a new board at the door, so you can just slide your name into the board to indicate that you’re on-call that week.

Isaac also receives a tiny mouse skull, noting it’s: A Nevarran souvenir.

It's a very kind gesture. He does, however, spend a week wondering vaguely if Stephen's under the impression that he doesn't bathe.

For a teapot, it is clear that Siegfried is not entirely sure whether it's appropriate, but he doesn't want to leave a patient out. In the same type of box he presented more conventional pets(' owners) their treats, he offers a sachet of fine-grade tea leaves.

Isaac immediately boils them in the teapot, which proceeds to run all around their room dumping hot tea on the floor. It... likes it? He thinks?

A small packet of taffy tied with a green ribbon, attached to which a note simply reads From Fifi. The handwriting is shaky and most likely hers.

This is both genuinely appreciated, and still possibly poisoned, so the ferryman gets a discreet bonus in the form of taffy.

A collection of small jars, each tinted a slightly different color, for sorting whatever.

The accompanying note reads: Thanks for everything, and Happy Satinalia. Benedict

The next time that Benedict stops by the Special Acquisitions office, he'll find that it's in absolutely no way better-organized. However, there's stuff in the jars. Only some of it's alive and mad to be inside one.

A hefty ball of polished amber with the remains of some prehistoric insect trapped within and a small box of chocolate-coated grasshoppers sit innocuously on Isaac's desk accompanied by a note in Vlast's neat, sharp and rather curt scrawl.

the paperweight is in obvious evidence any time someone visits the (extremely chaotic) special acquisitions office. you might have to lift other papers off of it, but that's technically a place of pride.

About a week before Satinalia, though perhaps continuing in repeated echoes until the spirit of curiosity is sated, Isaac dreams of having a wondrous variety of bugs in the infirmary -- real and fantastical, drab little rock-shaped ones and technicolored aliens and everything in between. Unfortunately this spirals a little out of control as the dream tries to replicate literally every kind of bug Isaac may conjure with even the barest whim of imagination, which turns out is a lot of bugs, so many bugs, Maker that's too many bugs???
