It wasn't until he was hauled back from the edge of the whatever forgotten ruin he'd found himself on did will snap back t his senses with a startling jolt. Even more startling was coming back to reality in the cold, the rain, unfamiliar surroundings, and of course being drawn back by a qunari. It's nothing personal, exactly, there's just no such thing in his own reality, so Will cannot help starting at the sight of him, but that was compounded by everything else.
Will has dealt with so many of the monsters running around in his own imagination, that the surreal-ness of this reality shouldn't bother him. Not anymore, but who could truly blame him after waking up in so abruptly to find himself in such a state. There was that and there was also the fact that the qunari eerily reminded him of his own, personal wendigo...being familiar and not at the same time.
"I...don't remember falling asleep..." he finally said in a voice that suddenly betrayed how cold he really was. Not the best with social graces even at the best of times, though it was difficult while feeling compelled to cover yourself, Will did not forget them altogether, "thank you...ah...for not letting me leap to me doom. How far did I wander?"
More importantly how long would it take to get back? It almost seemed as though he were used to such occurrences and indeed this had happened once in the middle of winter.
