Elevator Pitch: Weird rifter mage who loves creatures a whole lot, and especially dangerous ones, and would rather hang with dragons than work in an office. Also is a magpie for trouble but is doing his best.

↠ CR DESIRES

I love all sorts of CR, and Newt can lend himself to prickly/complicated CR easily enough, so all CR is good! If you are a templar, I can only apologize for the headaches Newt is likely causing you.

More specifically, more CR with more magic users! I'm having him studying/basic training with learning to use a staff, and I would love for a native mage to help him with that. He's also working with daggers, too, so help on that front with rogues would be great!

Also like, if rebel mages are looking for rifter converts, Newt pretty obviously empathizes with the mages when it comes down to it.

Tina just left, so he's super sad. But he can be a good and loyal friend once you get to know him, and he's the kind to 'please I don't need feelings' while helping/hanging out with people. He can also be funny and witty, and he enjoys both in other people, so he can be fun to be around!

He really wants to see a high dragon up close. Like, this is his main goal while in Thedas, lbr. Baby dragons and drakes would be fun too! And he is absolutely the sort to go and try to find wyverns just to observe/gush over them. He is a nerd with so many brushes with death, he's lost count.

He loves the Deep Roads. No, I am not joking. He will sign up for missions there every time someone help him. (If I ever need an endgame plot for him, I'm thinking him catching the blight might be a good way to go. Because I'm awful. :D)

He's a complete nerd for magical creatures but he also loves animals of all sorts, and I love CR revolving around this, so, if you need help with critters, Newt's your guy! Also, he does have the Demiguise Tina brought with her, so if you want to see a creature from his world, let me know! He takes her on walks

He's just recently switched divisions, from Research to Scouting.

Myr does know things about fighting with knives; he's not a REALLY GOOD knife fighter but knows a couple of tricks for surprising an assailant who doesn't count on a mage being able to stab them. He's better with a staff & really good with a spirit blade and would be happy to spar/wrassle with Newt to help him develop those skills!

I would love all of this! Would it be okay to handwave/assume that Newt and Myr get together weekly, maybe, to train? We can definitely thread it out, too, but I'd love for Newt to have like, some kind of regimen going on with a friend, too. :D

Yes, absolutely! He'd be delighted to (esp after he gets back from the abbey, WITH EYES) & absolutely fit training with Newt into his schedule.

Hey, I enjoyed our cr on the meme with Newt and Freddie! I'd love to find an excuse for them to work together again one day, or just have a conversation about their worlds and all the interesting things in them.

I did too! Freddie is so awesome and exactly the kind of person Newt would love to actually befriend! And I would, too! Does Freddie have an open post/mission coming up? I can throw Newt at her there!

Yes! I love Galatea and Newt's CR so much! (And, heh, Newt always seems to become friends with women who can/have kick his ass, it's so delightful!) They should definitely get drinks or something sometime soon!

I WOULD REALLY LIKE NEWT CR!!! I have Hanzo, who he vaguely met in the Deep Roads and is an in-hiding mage (he is being more obvious about his spirit dragons right now which are lowkey like patronuses, just saying), I have Six who used to have magic and now big and buff and awesome!! I also have Solas and Sidony if you're interested in either of them too c:

All of this sounds great! All of your characters are wonderful. I think Hanzo would, especially, be of interest to Newt. A+ choice of spirits, dragons are the best, he says. And I think he and Solas could be really interesting, too. He knows Adalia so I definitely want to throw him Six's way at some point! In short, I'm game for all of it, and I'll keep an eye out for any open posts from any of yours!

I would be happy to hit up your open post since it's already there! Let me know if you want me to make my own starter for us or if you'd rather do your own that's cool too. Either way they're gonna have a tense reunion.
