Mabari Mage

Character: Samouel “Sam” Haines Gareth (DA OC)

Occupation/Role: Healer (Spirit Healer in training), Blacksmith, part-time punching bag

A/R/N/M: 26, Human, Ferelden, Mage.

Elevator Pitch: The tall mage that spends half his time at the forges. Innocent and naive at times. Not easily offended, and tends to fall off things. Very much like a mabari hound, cute but fierce.

Opinions: Sam is pretty neutral when it comes to mages and templars. He knows everyone is equally capable of both good and bad, and has experienced it from either side. No one is better than the other.

He tends to try and see the best in everyone until they prove otherwise.

Though raised Andrastian, Sam isn't interested much in religion. Obviously there are greater powers at work, and with events at the Conclave and Haven, he believes more strongly in that fact.

Politics? He's terrible at them. Or so he thinks.

He doesn't try to get himself involved very much in them. Sam isn't looking to fight anyone, save maybe the bad guys and anyone who threatens his friends. He's always up for some sparring or some sort of friendly competition.

Where They've Been: Sam is from a small fishing town in Ferelden's Coastlands. Because of the Blight his family fled to Ostwick and Sam eventually ended up at the Circle there. He went to the Conclave, but skipped out on it to visit the village instead, which ended up saving his ass. Other than Haven, Redcliffe, Emprise du Lion and Skyhold,

Future Plans: Sam hopes to further his training in becoming a Spirit Healer, and possibly some more offensive spells. Learning different skills so he knows how to fight without magic, cause you never know. Still working on his and Krem's relationship.

CR Desires: I'm pretty damn open for anything. Progressing his magic. Wouldn't mind some negative CR.

Elevator Pitch: I’m Garris Vakrie. Codename: Blue. All-around merc bad boy and dispenser of justice in an unjust world. I also kill demons on the side. And you are?

Opinions: So long as they don't use blood magic and aren't throwing spells at him, he's pretty alright with them. Pretty okay with all races, save for Qunari; did you see what they did to Kirkwall? For the most part he'll keep a wide berth with them, but he ain't going to be hostile, since they're with the Inquisition right? Religion and politics? They're alright until they get in the way of doing something right and getting the job done.

I wanna fight everyone!

Where They've Been: Garris is from the Free Marches. He's been around a decent amount of the Free Marches and Orlais; small group so didn't travel far until the Breach.

I'm an archer I don't throw hammers. Come on!

Future Plans: Hm. Nope, didn't really have anything planned, just figured I'd go with the flow.

Beth's Solo Act

Character: Jamie McCrimmon (Doctor Who)
Occupation/Role: Rifter and shiny new member of the Inquistion
A/R/N/M: 25, Human, Scottish/rifter, non-mage
Elevator Pitch: He's a former time-traveling Scot (complete with kilt) who's now adjusting to his new life in Thedas, fighting demons and closing rifts with the glowing mark that's wound up embedded in his hand.
Opinions: Most of the mages he's met have been perfectly reasonable people, and seem alright to him. Unless, of course, they're the sort that like to set people's skirts on fire, then they're completely daft. :| So far he's not really all that sure about the templars, and dislikes the people who treat the other races poorly no matter who they are. This is especially true if they're treating someone poorly who is either a lassie or his friend. And Maraas-lok will knock you on your arse, but boy, what a drink.
Where They've Been: So far (in Thedas), he has been to Haven, Skyhold and the Fallow Mire. He really does not want to go back to the Mire, thanks.
Future Plans: Learning more about his mark, learning to read (which I will hopefully have something up soon), going on Adventures!, trying not to be homesick.
CR Desires: Pretty much the same as before: CR with more templars just so he can see there's more to them than just what's on the surface. Whether that's good or bad CR, well, that depends on how things go, doesn't it? In general, however, positive and negative CR is more than welcome, and he is always up to making more friends. Flirting or being talked into doing things by strong-willed stubborn lasses would be great - and everyone ever is welcome to tease him about his skirt kilt. So long as they don't mind him pulling faces, that is.

Occupation/Role: Member of the Council of Magi
A/R/N/M: 30, human, Nevarran, mage.

Elevator Pitch: Lady Benevenuta Thevenet (or Councilor, as of recently) is a politically savvy Mortalitasi mage from Nevarra City who has grown up in privilege and influence - as both necromancers and politicians go, she has a remarkably sunny disposition. A genuinely good-natured, optimistic idealist with big, bold ideas about WORLD PEACE and MAGE FREEDOM, she is also a brutally ruthless and methodical in her pursuit of what she believes to be the right course of action, having been groomed from childhood to Change The World, For The Better, and to always trust that her mother knows best how to do that. She is sweetly, benevolently manipulative, ambitious and prepared to work hard for her goals. At the moment, they align with those of the Inquisition - though she dutifully reports back on its actions to her mother in Nevarra.

Opinions: Benevenuta would really prefer to solve things with mostly talking and a few well placed assassinations, if at all possible, does she have to fight anyone. In general - she is pro mage independence (strongly), but has not herself had particularly unpleasant experiences of either the circles or the Templars and is therefore fairly willing to work with them in good faith, albeit not in any way that compromises her beliefs or agency. She strongly believes that at the end of the day, the Inquisition needs to be a unified whole, and adapting to live with one another is an important part of that. She believes the mages and Templars reconciling as equals is essential to their success.

Where They've Been: Prior to joining the Inquisition, Benevenuta had never left Nevarra and only rarely left Nevarra City, but in her homeland she's fairly well-placed and could easily be acquainted or just a name someone had heard before - her mother is influential in the Nevarran court and she's been dutifully serving her as a political aide since she became a fully fledged mage in her own right.

Future Plans: Although she wouldn't think so, she is kind of fucked up and her upbringing a little alarming. I'd eventually like Benevenuta to recognise that her perspective may be slightly warped and misled, and consider that dissenting opinions might be something other than adorably misguided. Committing properly to the Inquisition instead of privately considering herself separate.

CR Desires: You know what, Benny's CR, she hasn't even actually banged a Templar yet. ANYWAY, uh, everything. Come at me. One day someone should see the hella goth tattoo she has above her butt, though.

Anything Else: It's pronounced Thev-ehn-ney if you were wondering. Alternately, "actual disney murder princess" is still the most accurate description of this character.

Malcolm "That Dog Ain't Mine" Reynolds

A/R/N/M: 31, Human, Fereldan (sounds like a surface dwarf and speaks a lot of bits of Orlesian), Not a mage.
Elevator Pitch: Captain of the Ship Serenity that sails the Walking Sea, Malcolm's a former Soldier of Denerim that called it quits after the Fifth Blight. All that fighting, all that dying, and he'd had his fill of it. Knocks about doing jobs as they come with his crew, transporting what they can, keeping the skies fine and clear wherever they sail. Sky got a mite crowded and now he's here with a Mabari, a Mare, and a shiny shard in his hand.

Opinions: Mal don't much care who or what a person is as long as they leave him and his be. As long as they aren't trying to get him killed or cause a lot of harm to a lot of innocent people? He's happy to ride on by. Politics and wars and all that, it's the stuff for soldiers, for nobles and the like. That he ain't. He's just folk.

Where They've Been: Mal in his career as a merc has pulled jobs all over Thedas, most of them in Orlais, Nevarra, Antiva, and the Marches. Though he has swung up to the Anders a time or two, and even pulled a high risk smuggling gig out of the Imperium and a legit transport job from Seheron. He's been just about everywhere and done damn near every kind of thing.

Future Plans: Mal needs this thing out of his hand, see? It's shining and it kind of hurts and it's a mighty fine reading light but he didn't ask for it, please take it back. Dealing with being out on his own without his Crew since they're still up North with the ship would be pretty nice- building a new one in the Inquisition, stepping up a little to man a small squad of misfits is kind of his bag. He don't mean to it just kinda happens, people need a little nudging and he's got a mighty big stick. Some of his past exploits coming to bite him in the ass would be fun too, as would the crazy Ex. Yeah. He's got one.

CR Desires: Everything and anything, Mal's sociable enough to get along with most, don't much care about specifics aside those of being a decent person and kinda needs to get used to the idea he's going to be stuck with the Inquisition for awhile. People he's run into on jobs, have heard of him, or wanna have a mean old man be grumpy and snarky in their general direction, have at.

Out of curiosity, concern, and a distinct lack of any information that remotely helps, Adelaide wants to do a more thorough investigation of rifters and people with those shining green cuts in their hands. Simply recording flare ups, if they have strange dreams, what can they do with them, what can't they do with them, regularly checking in on them and how the anchors effect the world around them- that'll be the bulk of it.

Also making them hurt less though that's more a professional obligation than it is for research.

Elevator Pitch: Wealthy Merchant's daughter turns ass-kicker because her parents were rude and wanted to force her into marriage. How dare them.
Opinions: Emmie's usually good at making friends with people from all walks of life. She's a glass half-full kind of girl. But she does think this Mage-Templar war is stupid and all of you need to be ashamed of yourselves. Just be friends, okay?
Where They've Been: Originally from Val Royeaux in Orlais. After leaving Orlais she traveled for a bit and now she's at Skyhold. I haven't exactly hammered out where she's been so feel free to have met her?
Future Plans: BECOMING EVERYONE'S FRIEND. Adopting people. Hiding from possible letters from her family. Oh, we're going to Val Royeaux? She's conveniently sick. Yep, that's a horrible cough.
CR Desires: At some point someone needs to call her by her full name and they're going to get punched. Just so you know. Other than that, everyone's cr.
