CR Meme!
CR MEME!

You probably know how this works. Copy the form below, post it in the comments for each of your characters, and tag around to make plans for past, present, and future character relationships!
Your Name:
Contact:
Character: Name (Canon)
Occupation/Role: What do they do within the Inquisition?
A/R/N/M: Age, race, nationality, mage or not mage.
Elevator Pitch: Briefly, who is your character?
Opinions: What does your character think about mages? Other races? Religion? Politics? Who do you wanna fight?
Where They've Been: Where is your character from? Where have they traveled? Use this to hammer out past CR/chance encounters!
Future Plans: Anything you're planning or hoping to do with the character in the future, whether that's specific plots/adventures or a general development arc.
CR Desires: Specific hooks or general preferences (negative CR vs. positive, skipping preliminary what's-your-name conversations, etc.)
Anything Else: !!!
Alayre Sauveterre
Contact: PM
Character: Alayre Sauveterre (formerly Judge Magister Zargabaath, Final Fantasy XII)
Occupation/Role: Former Knight-Commander of Pharos (Orlais), Templar, and possible Representative of the Templar Delegation in Skyhold (not sure if that will be finalized or not)
A/R/N/M:
Age: 43
Race: Human
Nationality: Orlesian
Non-Mage
Elevator Pitch: Alayre Sauveterre is an annoying admirable Templar hailing from Orlais who blindly places his faith in the Maker's Will and that of others. He's like a living oxymoron to what others view Templars to be and upholds a certain level of conduct unrecognizable by those native to Thedas. Alayre is a complex individual who honestly seems to be the epitome of equanimity but is known to be too idealistic at times.
Opinions: Alayre's opinions about the Templar and Mages issue here at the Hold are slightly sour at times. He understands the Mages are justified in their demands for reform but sometimes he's hesitant to comply. On the other hand, Alayre knows fundamentally that change is desperately needed in order for the Inquisition to function as a unified force. In a sense, Alayre finds himself constantly swaying back and forth in the issue and seeks some sort of compromise to appease both parties.
Though in all due honesty, Alayre is honestly a tad frustrated these days due to this very issue.
Where They've Been: The Tower of Pharos is a remote tower hidden within the forests of the Applewoods near the magistrate city of Servault. For any character hailing from Orlais, especially Mage and Templar, some may have heard of it. Pharos was known to be quite beautiful but that beauty paled in comparison to the madness that ensued there. While it was better than most other towers, rumors regarding Knight-Commander Villeneuve's reign lingers. Alayre was Captain during that time.
Future Plans: I don't have any specific plans for Alayre just yet but it's my desire to see him grow more as an individual. He's quite heavily involved in his faith and seems quite used to the roles of leadership. I would like for him to continue along this path and eventually become a worthy enough leader in the eyes of others.
CR Desires: Both positive and negative CR is greatly welcomed to help me explore his character further.
Anything Else: Nothing else, I think other than he did arrive to Skyhold with fifteen Templar hailing from Pharos. They're all quite noticeable and usually stick to their native tongue except for a few. Alayre's men are quite nationalistic at times and sometimes just plain rude. Like snobby wannabe cultured bastard rude. It also should be noticed that Alayre's men take sport in making fun if Fereldans, so have fun with that! (^_^)

Re: Alayre Sauveterre
I hope you're enjoying our thread together as much as I am! I honestly see these two getting along well despite their men being somewhat troublesome. Alayre and to bring Norrington up to speed quickly by introducing him to the other Templar present in Skyhold. (I.e Maria Hill, Nerva, Cade and others)
There's actually a few Templars Alayre hasn't met yet. I need to hit up more people in this CR meme but anywho~
Tell me about Norrington's likes and not likes! I see the man follows the Chant of Light and all things Andraste like a good Templar but James acknowledges the need for self-reliance outside of Divinity. I also pick up that James is well aware of the hypocrisy of the Order.
Re: Alayre Sauveterre
Oh my gosh this is so perfect - getting Norrington to answer as one Templar to another helped him relax right into the Inquisition. I really look forward to them getting along in the future, building a lasting friendship. And of course, bringing all the Templars together.
Moar Templars ...
So, Norrington likes - history, mostly military stuff but he loves all of it, likes horse riding, likes swords, likes a good fish stew and a bottle of ale at the end of a long day. He likes when he can just be with his men and smile at their stories. He likes what magic can do for people. when put to true and just purposes. He likes cookies, but he'll never admit that to anyone. Sometimes he just likes to sit in a quiet corner with some cookies and a glass of wine and a book and just Be.
Norrington hates - BLOODMAGES. Those dicks all gotta die. He doesn't like apostates, not because they're evil but because he sees them as wasting their talents wandering around like hippies. Do something useful, you slackers. He hates that the Chantry's got a thousand years of tradition and can't see that in that thousand years the world has changed and it has to change with it. The circles need to change, the Order needs to change as well. He wants to see the Colleges of Magic restored, he wants the White Spire to become a central hub of just Templar activities and training, like the Warden Fortress of Weisshapt, not a prison. The Chantry should be a safe place, and the Templars should be it's protectors and guardians. Mages should be able to practice their craft and should be happy when Templars remove the dangerous elements....
Yeah he's got a lot of feelings about this.

Alayre honestly enjoys horseback riding and makes it a habit to travel along the mountainous terrain of the Frostback Mountains. Something about feeling the wind within his hair and being alone in the wilderness appeases his strong sense of adventure. He's also quite fond of swordplay and happens two be a rather accomplished dual-wielder. Alayre is ambidextrous and is probably the only Templar around to successfully like a rogue. The swords he possesses are both enchanted blades, one enchanted with ice and the other with light.
So I can really see these two getting along swimmingly especially since Norrington wants to restore the Order for the better. He honestly would agree with changing everything about the Circles and the Order as a whole. Hell, having trainings happen again at the White Spire and rebuilding the Mage College are perfect ideas.
As for Blood Mages, Alayre damn sure doesn't trust blood mages. Hell no! Nothing good ever came from a blood mage and nothing ever will. Alayre might be a tad liberal but he's not stupid. Blood Mages must die.
Sorry, folks!

All things are possible in this new world - he just really hopes that the new world outlasts the old one which seems in terrible danger from that frigging Magister. Who, hey blood mage Magister? Right up the Templar Order's alley.
Not at all. And that will be interesting considering how many of them are about.

Goodness, there's quite a few Blood Mages around. Alayre will not be pleased, especially if the Mage Council defends them. Just imagine all the havoc that would cause.

He doubts that Cullen approves of them and he cannot see the Seeker Pentergast appreciating them either.

I swear most Templars think like that.

Salvatore is going to grumble at him while begrudgingly loving every piece of poetry Sal gives him.

Not all of it will be bad. Some of it he will plagiarize, so it won't suck.

Alayre loves and appreciates the thought. So, Salvatore will be rewarded with kisses.
