'Twas the night before DA4, and all through the house, we found ourselves wondering, is a nug analogous to a mouse?

 

The writers were fired, Cullen’s VA got weird, ten years have passed, and most of us are still here.

So as our computers overheat, none of them upgraded since Inquisition, we say thanks to the mods, still here of their own volition.

Here’s to a near decade of waiting, roleplaying, and friends, through tags and logs and only a few dropped threads.

May we all enjoy Veil Guard, a Thedas unfamiliar and unknown, though ‘Fade Rift’ has the cooler name, if I may say so.

how to play:

1. tag with a toplevel for your characters. (possibly include division + projects for ease of identifying coworkers!)
2. reply to other's tags with what your character got theirs for satinalia.
3. rake in those approval or disapproval points. we support both friend- and rival- mances.

Like his fellow Researchers, in his mailbox Stephen will find a dip pen with a resilient steel nib, outfitted with a reservoir to hold more ink than the usual. This pen comes with a wooden holder of unique style, and a note:

Alongside the pen is a little marzipan apple.

On arriving at his desk, Stephen will also find a native-built book stand, with light ornamentation added in art deco brass. It's been retrofitted with a simple spring mechanism to hold the book open that can easily be disengaged for page turning.

Like his fellow Researchers, in his mailbox Jayce will find a dip pen with a comfortably thick, but lightweight, wooden holder and resilient steel nib, outfitted with a reservoir to hold more ink than the usual. The holder is partly hollow and may be unscrewed to reveal a tiny secret compartment, containing one backup nib.

Alongside the pen is a little marzipan sphere, glazed in a specific hue of glossy blue.

At his Gallows workstation, Jayce will find the working surface has been refreshed with a new nugskin mat, and his pen and tool trays have been swapped out for a set in lightly ornamented brass.

At the forge in the Gwaren outpost, he will find a set of assorted tong blanks and rivets, ready to be finished in whatever style(s) he may desire. Imported from Orzammar, the metal is satisfyingly heavy, very durable, and may be a little challenging to finish.

During the day, Viktor seems a touch preoccupied, though insists he's fine—and will not become prickly about it, even if pressed.

On a day that isn't, but is near-ish Satinalia, Cedric will deliberately do his work near Teren's sewing, in a probably plausibly-deniable way, but one which ignores any attempts to run him off. The Nevarran brandy Vanya gave him is positioned a little closer to her cup than his, and he'll narrate the stupider bits of Diplomacy's correspondence with nobles and merchants aloud. Sometimes with voices. Which would be more successful if he didn't perpetually sound a bit like Dracula with marbles in his mouth.

Fifi is presented with this portrait drawn by a TONI age SIX, and an eyepatch he's fashioned. It's been roughly stitched out of the taffy ribbon & a piece of plaidweave.

Anonymously, left in her cubby, a false key wrapped in floral handkerchief and tied with the green taffy ribbon. The bottom of the key detaches, revealing a slim, hollow tube large enough to insert and conceal a paper, picks, etc. A tiny scrap of vellum is currently inside. Opening it reads HAPPY SATINALIA in clear, block Trade.

Vanya gets some nice boot polish. The jar has a little card with a sketch of two people riding a chariot affixed to the lid. The chariot is actually pretty detailed and not a bad rendering. The people are basically stick figures.
